Wed Mar 27 Reference Viewport
When you need to reference another drawing into your current you can create a viewport on a design layer. To make this work, the reference file needs to be first saved to the same version of Vectorworks you’re using.
Once you’ve imported the reference you can draw your new design on top. This is a very useful tool for TDs who are touring the same set into different venues.

Printing, sheet layers & viewports – oh my!
Sheet layers are our output drawings. All annotations (notes & dimensions) and titles should be done on the sheet layer.
To add a view from your drawing to the sheet layer first create a viewport from the View menu.
To add annotations to the sheet layer right click on the viewport and select “edit annotations”.

Set up a drawing: 11×17; 1/2″ scale.
Draw the 4 x 8 riser, 4 x 4 riser and mime box with an exploded view from the top and bottom.
Draw a mime box with the handle cut out. Include the depth of the plywood and give the line weight depth.
